The nutritional value of food is generally on the decline as mainstream food industry producers are relying more and more on man-made chemicals to control pests, hormones to fatten poultry, and cattle, and increasing use of antibiotics, to keep them from contracting diseases in over-crowded facilities.  Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) have been proven harmful for human consumption even though they are allowed to proliferate.   Food shortages have become epidemic in certain parts of the world, due to drought and soil/water contamination.

Organic food consumption is the way nature intended, however, most times those foods are sold at prices that are too high for the average working family to consume on a regular basis.

Our Aquafarm Project is a cost-effective way for everyone in the community  to enjoy organic food using modern hydroponic and aquaponic systems  with affordable pricing and that has economic growth components via creating jobs, and entrepreneurship training, focusing on the creation of value-added organic products as part of the product line.

Local-based businesses will also have the opportunity for supplying the operation with goods and services (packaging, equipment maintenance, etc.), which would boost the economy of the area.

Organic Food Production

Major Advantages of Aquaponics vs. Land/Pond Farm

1. Growing cycles faster w/higher yields (TEN     times on avg.) with less loss.

2. Cost of foods grown on site is far less      (affordability and export advantage)

3.  Energy usage is 70% less and cheap (energy is      produced on site).

4.  Farm is easily adaptable to market trends and      consumer tastes.

5.  High quality is easier to achieve (computer-      controlled environment).

6.  Unaffected by outside weather conditions      (sheltered).

7.  Resistant to insect, bird, and animal losses      (infestation, pilferage)
